Maritime City Sightseeing Tour
Accompany our experienced tour guide on a sightseeing tour through the important history and development of the North Sea harbour city up to its impressive present. The inner harbour in Husum is unique – here, you can directly experience the drama of the low and high tides right in the middle of the city. A special highlight on your maritime excursion is the visit to the North Friesland Maritime Museum, which presents maritime history in North Friesland in an impressive manner.

Discover on the storm flood chart how large the storm tides were in the past that attacked the North Sea coast. In the North Sea Museum, you will learn more about the life of the coastal inhabitants. You will find out how tides are created and what is behind the myth of the legendary settlement.

Historic City Sightseeing Tour

„Tracking Theodor Storm´s Life“
Through Theodor Storm, Husum became world-famous. Discover the sites of the famous author in Husum: The birthplace home and the residential homes of Theodor Storm as well as the places which formed the backdrop for his novelettes.

„Women´s Tour“
A guided city tour about women, who were known and significant in Husum and who lived in the castle, in the centre and in the village’s houses. However, the fates of many “nameless” women who lived in the western sections of the city are not forgotten.

Night Watchman´s Tour
Who knows more exciting things about the past and present than our night watchman? Accompany our historic night watchman equipped with a storm lantern and halberd through the romantic Husum Old City and hear reports from previous centuries. Follow him as he tracks skinflints, charlatans and rebellions and experience much which is interesting and curious from Husum’s past and present.

City Tours for Clever Schoolchildren
Tailored especially for groups of schoolchildren (4th to 10th grades), fascinating city tours are offered in Husum. Upon their discovery tour, the schoolchildren will learn about the things worth seeing and knowing about Storm’s city according to their class level. Subsequently, they can show what they have learned by answering a tour questionnaire.

Walk along the Dyke
Walk along the dyke from Husum towards Schobüll with explanations about dyke construction, dyke foreland, foreland work, vegetation and mud flat exploration. The dyke walk ends with an informative discussion in Schobüll.
